Do you have constant worrying thoughts?

Are you feeling stuck in a low mood?

Do you want to be able to be more present in the moment?

MBCT combines mindfulness exercises such as meditation with cognitive behavioural exercises and psychoeducation about depression and anxiety.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is an evidence-based group therapy for preventing depressive relapse and treating mood disorders. It reduces depression, anxiety and stress. Mindfulness is a non-judgmental way of paying attention to the present moment.

Hi, I'm Natalie,

I am a social worker (MSW), psychotherapist and I am a trained mindfulness meditation group facilitator.

Within my practice, through individual sessions, group programs and retreats, I guide adults to find the path to more calm, ease and peace in their lives. This is done through a combination of modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to treat trauma and challenging life situations, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to reduce anxiety and depressive symptoms, and Mind/Body Integration to assist the nervous system to return to safety.

It is of utmost importance to me to create a safe space for my clients to feel heard and witnessed. In my groups, I create a dynamic for people to connect with others in feeling less alone while learning lifelong skills.

I worked in the public sector as a social worker and psychotherapist for 17 years in mental health services and I have now moved into private practice, focusing on the modalities I have found to be most effective and the ones I am most passionate about.

My own life challenges and inner work in the last 10 years has led me on my own journey of  learning and studying trauma, healing and the mind/body connection through various modalities, and is the work that I now share with others!

Join me for private sessions, a MBCT group program or a retreat for a space to heal, grow and reconnect to yourself and others.

FAQs

01

Do I have to have meditation experience?

No! It is really an introductory course. No need for any experience in mindfulness meditation. We will cover the basics and many types of meditations and you will use what works for you!  It is a great lifelong skill to have so why not give yourself the time and space to learn with others.

02

What if I can't clear my mind of thoughts?

That is a major myth! It is our brain's job to have thoughts and no one is able to totally clear their mind. The purpose is to be aware of the thoughts you are having and being non-judgmental towards them and letting them pass and not falling into the story and narrative about them. (I know...easier said than done!)

03

Do I have to share a lot in the group?

Absolutely not! It is an experiential type of group, meaning you will learn skills and do them in the group, but we do not share about childhood or stories, you can share about how the practice of the skills is going at home if you wish to.

04

Can I miss some group sessions?

This is a closed group meaning it will be the same people for 8 weeks and not a drop-in type of group. The material builds on each week so it is strongly recommended not to miss any of the sessions, a pre-planned trip or illness that requires missing a session is accepted.

Testimonials

"Having been lucky enough to have participated in the group sessions with Natalie, my gratitude knows no bounds. I have since then been able to apply the tools I learned into my day to day life due to my ongoing struggle with anxiety and depression. I find myself having a sense of clarity, lucid almost after a long period of finding myself spiraling into depression due to not having the coping mechanisms that I now do.  It helped me realize that we really aren't alone."
