Psychotherapy Sessions
60 min in-person or virtual individual psychotherapy sessions to heal, grow and reconnect with self
with Natalie Goerner
Social Worker (MSW), Psychotherapist, & Meditation Group Facilitator
In psychotherapy sessions, I use modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Mindfulness Meditation, and Somatic Approaches to reduce symptoms and work towards healing and growing within the self and in relation to others.
Through the evaluation process, I will recommend what modalities could be useful and we will decide together what path to take. I find a mix of modalities is most helpful as this leaves the person with many tools and skills to use once our work has ended.
These sessions can be helpful for symptoms of anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, trauma, and will help to increase coping strategies, reprocess challenging life situations to find more peace and ease in the present and in turn, the future.
Once our process has terminated, and we have completed a piece of work together, it is possible to come back to complete another piece. We do the work when we feel ready, and that looks different for everyone!

Your Guide
Natalie Goerner
Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, MBCT & Somatic Approaches
I am a social worker (MSW), psychotherapist and I am a trained mindfulness meditation group facilitator.
Within my practice, through individual sessions, group programs and retreats, I guide adults to find the path to more calm, ease and peace in their lives. This is done through a combination of modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to treat trauma and challenging life situations, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to reduce anxiety and depressive symptoms, and Mind/Body Integration to assist the nervous system to return to safety.
It is of utmost importance to me to create a safe space for my clients to feel heard and witnessed. In my groups, I create a dynamic for people to connect with others in feeling less alone while learning lifelong skills.
I worked in the public sector as a social worker and psychotherapist for 17 years in mental health services and I have now moved into private practice, focusing on the modalities I have found to be most effective and the ones I am most passionate about.
My own life challenges and inner work for the last 10 years has led me on my own journey of learning and studying trauma, healing and the mind/body connection through various modalities, and is the work that I now share with others!
Join me for private sessions, a MBCT group program or a retreat for a space to heal, grow and reconnect to yourself and others.
FAQs
01
You don't have to have been in therapy before. We will assess and see what approach is needed. I do have clients who come to see me because they have tried talk therapies and want to try somatic work like EMDR. We will discuss together if this types of therapy is suited for you.
02
Do I have to have therapy experience?
This is impossible to answer and predict as everyone has different systems but there is a preparation phase which is part of EMDR so this will take minimally 4-6 sessions.
How many sessions does EMDR require?
03
How does insurance coverage work?
You can e-transfer the payment for the session prior to the session and I will send you a receipt to then submit to your insurance who will reimburse you. I am covered under Social Work and Psychotherapy as I am licensed with the Ordre des Travailleurs Sociaux et Therapeutes Conjugaux et Familiaux du Quebec and registered with the Ordre des Psychologues du Quebec.
